Horton Plains National Park

Horton Plains National Park in Ohiya is a protected area in the central highlands of Sri Lanka and is covered by montane grassland and cloud forest. This plateau at an altitude of 2,100–2,300 metres (6,900–7,500 ft) is rich in biodiversity and many species found here are endemic to the region.

Mainly because of the weather it´s important to start in the early morning.

I will pick you up at the Hotel at 5.30 am

 

On the way we can get some Breakfast and we will see the sunrise in the mountains near the Horton Plains

We will arrive the Park at X.XX am and I will  help you to get the tickets.

 

Then it´s time for you to go for a walk through the Park, which normaly will take you about 4 hours.

 

You will see the Cloud forest and a great and unique landscape around the hiking path.



The main attraction is definitely the World´s End.

It is a sheer cliff, with a drop of about 4,000 feet (1,200 m)



The vertebrate fauna of the region includes 24 species of mammals, 87 species of birds, nine species of reptiles and eight species of amphibians

After the Park we go back to Nuwara Eliya or I drop you at Pattipol railway Station  where a Train goes to Ella
